The 2005 edition of EXPO MANUFACTURA again showcased the latest innovations for the manufacturing industry in Monterrey and northern Mexico.

Bethesda, MD, March 17, 2005 - EXPO MANUFACTURA 2005, Mexico's largest metalworking and manufacturing exhibition, was attended by over 5,400 professionals from various industrial segments. The 9th edition of the show took place February 22-24, 2005 at Cintermex in Monterrey. Total attendance over the past two years has increased by more than 18%.

EXPO MANUFACTURA has become the forum that supports the industry in showcasing the newest and best innovations for the manufacturing sector in Monterrey and the country's northern region. "It's the best platform to promote the latest in machinery to the engineers whom are the most influential decision makers to purchase new equipment for the manufacturing industry," stated Paul St. Amour, General Director of E.J. Krause de Mexico.

EXPO MANUFACTURA is well known for improving the competitiveness in the manufacturing industry by providing the best solutions in machine tools, CAD/CAM, automation, laser and welding equipment in order to improve attendees' production processes.

The exhibition was made up of 60% Mexican exhibitors and 40% international companies from the United States, China, Germany, Spain, France and Italy, all of whom are expecting increased sales based on the reactivation of the manufacturing industry in Mexico. "We have already rebooked 43% of the exhibition space for 2006, a positive indication of the show's success," commented José Navarro, Director of the Industrial Division of E.J. Krause de México.

Navarro added that showcasing the new Welding Pavilion, which was supported by the American Welding Society and the Welding Equipment Manufacturers Committee, was clearly valuable. "AWS-WEMCO were so pleased with their participation this year that they are now planning a series of technical conferences for Expo Manufactura 2006."

EXPO MANUFACTURA 2005 surpassed all expectations of exhibitors and visitors alike. Additionally, the show was supported by CAINTRA Nuevo Leon (the Manufacturing Chamber in the state of Nuevo Leon), the US Department of Commerce, trade representations of Italy and Great Britain, the Association for Manufacturing Technology and the Nuevo Leon´s state Economic Development Ministry.

During the show, technical presentations were held on current hot topics such as SCM solutions, lathes and drilling tools, industrial measuring systems, casting hardware and holding systems. One of the most relevant issues discussed was financing. Both chambers and the private sector have invited banking institutions to organize efforts to step up financing and to contribute to the reactivation of the market.

EXPO MANUFACTURA 2006 will be held March 7-9 at Cintermex in Monterrey. The focus will again be on setting forth strategic alliances in order to create new development for the manufacturing sector.
